This is my X-23 cosplay. Laura is the genetic clone of Wolverine. She was introduced into the Marvel universe in X-Men: Evolution, as well as having a number of appearances in other series. X-23 is a strong female lead and I used to watch the X-Men: Evolution so this made perfect sense. Laura retains the healing factor of Wolverine, has a total of four retractable claws, and an Adamantium infused skeleton.
I made this cosplay for MCM Oct 2014. It is a mix of spandex, a huge pair of New Rock boots and foamboard accessories. The hardest part of this was easily the claws. These are made of a layered foamboard frame covered by a homemade chrome paper. After several attempts the chrome was the result of a plain paper covered in a black gloss spray, as a base coat, then chrome spray paint. This resulted in a nice shiny effect and a slightly woozy night.
I don’t have a build diary for this piece but If I really want to add a guide for the claws in future.
